i swear caleb said "mama's a woman" this afternoon as he was whining about feeling sick... although it was more like "ma ma ma...aaaaaa...wo wowo wo ma... nnn (ending in a whine). heh heh...

This was Caleb last night at around 7:30 pm happily playing in his activity center.

This was Caleb most of today until 10:30 pm when he finally fell asleep (and we hope and pray he will stay that way for more than 30 minutes).
the poor kid is so sick and so tired. i don't know what happened. he was so happy and active yesterday. but he was totally lathargic most of today, had a pretty nasty cough, and a mild fever of 102. he has also thrown up 4 times today (yuck!). i called the pediatrician and asked if he should be seen, and they told me to bring him in. the doc said that it was just a viral infection and we basically have to wait it out. i just hope for 2 things: 1) he stops throwing up and 2) he can sleep through the night. he hasn't been able to stay asleep for more than 30 minutes today.

sitting up, zoo fun, cups

caleb has finally mastered sitting up by himself. for awhile, he was doing the tripod thing, and then he could sit up for a few seconds before falling over. but he can now actually sit up and play with things on his own. the only problem is that we've found that sitting in this position causes him to spit up even more than he already does. oh well...















on dec. 30th, caleb and i joined the laws (amy, emi, mia), the weis (steve, sunny, justin), and the lees (sam, carol, jocie) at the zoo. it was a gorgeous day, so it was nice being able to be outdoors. boy, going to the zoo with kiddos sure is a different experience. check out the stroller action. note the empty stroller on the left. we couldn't get emi to stay in her stroller. (you see her walking across everyone in the pic on the right.) she was the only one who truly appreciated the zoo experience. from left to right: emi, caleb, justin, jocie, mia. caleb has become obsessed with trying to drink from a cup. everytime we have a cup in our hand, he tries to grab it and drink from it. he even throws some nasty tantrums if we don't let him. yikes!
